Post-truth, democracy and populism

Máriam Martínez-Bascuñán is political science lecturer at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, where she got her Ph.D – awarded with a distinction for best dissertation. Her areas of expertise are political theory and feminist thinking and, while pursuing her undergraduate studies in law and political science, she stood at the Paris Institute of Political Studies. She’s been visiting researcher at the University of Chicago and Columbia University. Also, she is the author of Populismos (in collaboration with Fernando Vallespín) and of Género, emancipación y diferencias, where she analyzes the works of – well respected feminist thinker – Iris Marion Young. Between 2018 and 2020 she directed the opinion section of newspaper El País, where she has been regularly collaborating since 2016.
